Maruti-Toyota Tsusho to set up vehicle recycling unit

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Tsusho will set up a vehicle dismantling and recycling unit in India. The companies have announced the formation of a 50-50 joint venture company called Maruti Suzuki Toyotsu India Private Limited (MSTI) to oversee its operations.
The new joint venture company is headquartered in New Delhi. The recycling unit will be set up in Noida, Uttar Pradesh within 2020-21. Initially, the plant will be able to recycle 2,000 vehicles per month.
MSTI will be responsible for procuring and dismantling end-of-life vehicles. These will be sourced from dealers and customers. The process will include solid and liquid waste management as prescribed by Indian laws.
Maruti and Toyota Tsusho plan to set up more such recycling plants across India.
