Global NCAP crash test shocking results for Ertiga, WagonR, Santro, Redi-Go




Datsun Redi-GO scores 1-star 


The Datsun Redi-GO has received a 1-star rating for adult occupant safety and 2-stars for child occupant safety in crash tests conducted by Global NCAP.
According to the test report, the car offered adequate protection to the driver's head and good protection to the passenger's head. Protection for the driver's chest was poor, while the passenger’s chest was rated as marginal. It offered marginal protection to the driver's knees and adequate and marginal protection to the passenger’s knees. The bodyshell of the car was rated as unstable.
A front-facing child seat for a 3-year-old was not able to prevent excessive forward movement and offered poor protection to the head and fair protection to the chest. The Child Restraint System (CRS) for an 18-month-old child was unable to protect the head as it made contact with the front seat and offered fair protection to the chest.
The test car was equipped with a driver-side airbag and ABS.


Maruti WagonR scores 2-stars 

The Maruti WagonR has scored a 2-star rating for both, adult and child occupant safety in crash tests conducted by Global NCAP.
According to the test report, the car offered good protection to the head of the driver and passenger. The protection for the driver's neck was good, while the protection for the passenger's neck was adequate. The protection for the chest region of both front occupants was found to be weak. The protection for the driver and passenger’s knees was found to be marginal.
A front-facing child seat for a 3-year-old was not able to prevent excessive forward movement. The 3-year-old Child Restraint System (CRS) failed during the test, while the 18-month-old CRS offered good protection for the head and chest.
The test car was equipped with a driver-side airbag, seat belt reminder, and ABS. It did not have ISOFIX child safety seat anchor points

Maruti Ertiga scores 3-stars 

The Maruti Ertiga has scored 3-stars for both adult and child occupant safety in crash tests conducted by Global NCAP.
According to the test report, the car offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger. The protection for the driver’s chest was marginal and that for the passenger’s chest was good. Protection for the driver's and passenger’s knees was marginal. The bodyshell of the car was rated as unstable.

Hyundai Santro scores 2-stars

The Hyundai Santro has scored 2-stars for both adult and child occupant safety in crash tests conducted by Global NCAP.
According to the test report, the car offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger. Protection for the driver's chest was weak, while protection for the passenger’s chest was rated as marginal. Protection for the driver's and passenger’s knees was marginal. The bodyshell of the car was rated as unstable.
